Joining the Circus

My sis (Hi M!) and I signed up for an aerial dance class together.  It isn't something I would have ever done on my own, so I'm especially grateful to M for asking me....

I love it.  Ever since our class last night, I've been trying to figure out how to hang silks from the ceiling in my house.  We decided that we need a barn.

Note... This picture is not me, and I didn't do anything that interesting, but it gives you an idea of what I'm doing.  It didn't seem all that difficult, exercise-wise, except that I could tell my hands were going to be sore, but by the time class was over, I was out of breath and felt like I'd had a pretty good work out.

Ooh, how cool! When I used to work at the gym, there was an aerial artist who would practice in the gymnastics room. Amazing! She taught private lessons, but I never was brave enough to try. Where do they offer this class?

Oh WOW! I am so jealous! That class sounds like so much fun - how did you find it? You totally have to post pics of you doing it when you start doing stuff:) SO COOL!

You, my friend, are going to have abs of steel. Try to find a way to post a video of your final exam.

The class is held in a little dance studio in sugar house. It's called The Sugar Space.

I would never have known something like this existed, except my sister somehow knew the instructor, and rounded up enough of us for a private class.

Yes - that does sound totally awesome. Do you have to take a pre-test to join? Like being able to do hand-stand push-ups or looking really stunning in a leotard?

That is freakin' AWESOME.

I bet I looked really stunning in a leotard when I was 7 (when it was "socially acceptable" to be flat chested), plus I could do hand stand push ups then too.
